Can we say Transmission leak?
Hey graytang you better hurry on buying your toyota before it morphs into a dodge....check this out "The 2008 Toyota Ram?" https://dodgeforum.com/m_394175/tm.htm all I can say is HEHE
you don't think it was Detroits over investment in new models of trucks and suvs that people don't seem to be real hot on now, over the last 10 or 15yrs Detroit's highest mark up was on trucks and suv and now the tide is going the otherway.Look at the American cars for the most part its the same stuff they were peddling 10yrs ago.
Yes, in part I'm sure the truck hype threw the big three into frenzy. Detroit moves in funny ways and still to this day, they are still trying to cover their bases and pretending the world around them (competition) is following them and not the other way around. In reality it’s true the Japs and Kors are designing, clone like vehicles and why not. They always have but with one big difference that has resulted in best Customer satisfaction numbers. (reliability and support) They learned from us real well on how to do the car/truck business. They know what we like and they provide it successfully. I hope we can get off our high horses and learn to do the same.
Samething in the 70s,new EPA standards and a gas crunch,Chrysler almost went under. It got Toyota,Datsun,Mitsubishi and Mazda a foot in the door.I think whats going on now has more to do with prices at the pump than quality.Detroit will turn it around faster then they did back in 70s,the big 3 shares technology with alot of asian and european companies it might take a couple of years.Gray you need to hold out for the 08 Tundra,,,Dodge stylin with Toyota engineering, you'll have what you like about both brands.LOL

Leading the pack in MPG is Chevy. It's got 6 "cars" with at least 30MPG (Aveo 37, Cobalt 34, HHR 30, Impala 31, Malibu 34, and Monte Carlo 31). Ford has one (Fusion 32), and Dodge has two (Stratus 30, and Caliber 32).
"Cars" that get under 25MPG: Dodge has one (Nitro, 23), Ford has one (Thunderbird, 24), and Chevy has one (SSR, 20).
All information is taken directly from manufacturers sites (taking, of course, that particular cars highest MPG, so a Dodge Magnum with a 2.7L will be shown for mileage instead of a Magnum 5.7L)
All in all, I still think there should be a bigger offering of 30+ MPG cars from Detroit. With advances such as fuel injection, and a market that would be more open to the more fuel efficent diesels (since they are now powerful, clean, and quiet), these small cars should IMO be getting closer to 35MPG instead of close to 30MPG.
But, whatever, I like my truck, and my job ain't gonna be effected because some people in Detroit ignore clear signs.
