No, if a passengers head goes thru the back glass (Like mine did) on a rear impact. Then they find out you removed the safety device. Your best buds will turn on you for that kind of money. I guess If I was about brain dead then found out it was because my friend thought his truck would look cooler without headrests, I would sue also. Not worth it.. I agree...they are UGLY!!!!

Being that I design seats for a living, I would have to give a thumbs down to removing your headrests! Like Chromey hinted at, the headrests are a major safety feature that anyone should have if they're riding in the back (like seat belts). The reason they're so big is because the goverment is starting to require them that large, and since most people didn't raise the headrest like you're supposed to they require them BIG. Kinda like the seat belt reminders....

Hate to bring this up, but I read about a guy that took his seat belts out and was sued by a future owner of the car. His son died and they said the past owner was partly to blame. They sued, and won. They are pretty strick on safety! A good lawyer would have a field day.
