New plug time....
simple. remove locking nut that holds plug component. in some case you will need to remove the wiring harness from the plug to get the insert out. remove plug with sparkplug socket. before inserting new plug gap to .040 and install new plug and reverse order for installation of the insert and wiring harness. then move onto the next plug.
They're very easy Lil,long extension and plug socket,, plug holes run straight up down on top of the engine, each plug has a coil over it,I saw on some forum somebody posted a link to a Jeep site, there were pics and step by step instructions for the 4.7,I wish I would of bookmarked it,after reading it I thought it sounded easy enough and it was,I installed some NGK,,,ZFR6F-11G copper cores.like Maxmax says blow the holes out before pulling the plugs and use antiseize on the threads. If I can find the site on changing plugs I'll post it.,,,,,,,,,,,,,Good ol Google here's the link http://www.wjjeeps.com/service/sparkplugs.htm#REMOVE47 That rear passenger side plug aint that hard to get to.

Which NGK Plugs are you using with your `05 4.7L Dakota? Here's the link to NGK Sparkplugs. http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/product...000&country=US
I only have about 3200 miles on my `05 4.7l dakota but if these are better, much better, have to have for performance type of spark plugs then i might look into replacing mine for better ones.
Thank you,.. D05D

The pic of the first one is what I have, they're NGK's V-Power basic copper core plugs,I'm skeptical about any performance gains by going to platinum or iridium plugs,The platinum and iridiums will last longer than the copper core, but all things being equal I don't think you could tell any difference performance wise. The reason I changed my plugs was I had rough idle and it wanted to stall,it runs good now,I think it had more to do with some the factory plugs being misgapped than what brand I used.If your trucks running good I wouldn't worry about it for 25k or so.
Strait from the manual on maintenance,
30,000 Miles (48 000 km) or at 24 months
â€* Change engine oil.
â€* Replace engine oil filter.
â€* Replace engine air cleaner element.
â€* Replace spark plugs.
â€* Drain and refill automatic transmission fluid
and change filter (4.7L only).
I shall wait for my truck to hit 30K like the manual recommends
