Default Tannau Cover 2005

Looking to put a cover on my truck. Priced for fiberglass (matched paint) runs from $900 to $1200 around here. (remote lock and light). OEM from the dealer is also $1200. Seems like a lot of cash, but I really want the cover.

I was going to get a Line-x in the truck prior to putting the cover on, but may just stick with the Dodge liner that is in the truck now.

Hey Skins I posted this earlier on a different thread hope it helps If you're talking about soft tonneaus,I have a Extang Saber on my truck,it has velcro straps on the front part to roll it up if you want to use the bed,its aluminum frame and bows, roll the cover up secure it with the velcro straps, pop the 3 bows off and end piece and its ready to go less than 5 minutes,it fits pretty good,I paid around $200 for it from Truck Add ons, here's a link if you want to check it out. http://www.extang.com/docs/saber.html

You have to take parts off to use the box with an Extang? Yuck. My Access tonneau just rolls right up, (bows, tailgate rail and tarp all bundled up) in about 15 seconds...

A buddy of mine has an Access roll up on his truck and speaks very highly of it. Works in any climate. Just rolls right up. ptschett do you live in South Dakota? If it works there, it'll work anywhere. I think I'm gonna go with an Access for my 06 Dakota. Narrowed it down to that one and the Truxedo Truxport. Anyone have any experience with the Truxport? Looks like autoanything.com has the best prices by far. Anybody here ever buy from that site? How was your buying experience?

i went with the matching fiberglass tonneau from a.r.e. 975.00 installed and they threw in a bed rug for free. only because the a.r.e. dealer was so late at getting me my tonneau. 2 weeks turned into 5 weeks. the bed rug is awesome.

Go with the roll up Access cover. Got tall stuff to haul? Roll it up and secure with built in straps at the back of the box. Can't do that with a hard cover without dismantling. Heavy snow on the cover? Not a problem. This is a great cover.

Thanks for the input. Looking for a hard cover as I do like the ability to lock stuff in the back. The drawback is cannot put anything tall into the bed. I am going to look at a couple today to see.

I like the idea of the roll up cover, any links to those?

Thanks for the info folks

Anyone have or use a hard trifold cover? I'm thinking about getting one soon.
