Default hitches

hey im having trouble trying to find the right hitch. what is the mounting size for our truck? can't i just run to autozone and get like a 2 inch hitch that screws on? cuz all my searches are showing much more complicated and expensive hitch procedures.

if you are talking about a universal hitch, yes you can get one, but you will most likely run into some issues. look on the bright side, these issues are things people who take some time and have the right tools can call accomplishments!

alright, enough mr. bright side for me today.

Just go to Uhaul. They can have the exact one for our trucks. You can buy it from the and install it yourself or get to install it. It will run you around 120 bucks plus wiring harness and plus labor if they do it.

Ya, there are 2 different size shanks and 2 defferent lengths of the shanks. I just cant remember the sizes. I think the dakota would use the smaller and longer shank.

I tow my boat with mine, 13' foot Boston Whaler style boat. Fully loaded with everything needed to fish including food, drink, tackle, gaff, net..etc. it's nearly 1000 lbs and I don't have a problem with it at all.
