Default Exhaust sensors

Here's my vision for my 05DAK4X4QC4.7MG, follow me on this.

The Truck is "plum" the darkest purple I've ever seen. I am using powder coated and fake carbon fiber accents heavily on this truck. Before I save enough for the headers and true dual exhausts, I want to run a flowmaster 40 to a custom fit, powder coated, rectangular tip. I intend for this to match the space between the rear wheels and the front of the bed, and have found a fabricator in town for this project. This will be done on the passenger side. Once I have enough $$$, I will do the headers, twin cat.s and a second FM40 and match it on the driver side.

Here's the deal: Do you know what type of sensor issues I will face and will the computer comply with new exhausts?

you will have no sensor issues as long as you keep the cats, even if you go with aftermarket cats there will be no trouble.if you get rid of the cats then there will be trouble. what i did before putting on my exhaust was punch a 1 inch rebard rod threw the cats to open them up. that way i can keep the inlet for the sensors and still have a free flowing exhaust.

So what your saying is your truck is now illegal as hell because you basically have no catalytic converter now.

you still have a cat, there is just very little guts left to them. that way when i go to emmissions the first thing they do is look under truck to see if they have been removed. that way i dont get fined.

If your state has no emission laws then you are good. Most states with emission laws define tampering as this-"tampering means "to remove permanently, bypass, defeat, or render inoperative, in whole or in part, any emission control system that is installed on or in a motor vehicle". Tampering includes acts such as removing the catalytic converter from a vehicle and installing a straight pipe, removing the substrate from inside the catalytic converter ("cleaning" it out), removing an air pump or disabling the air pump by removing the air pump belt, or installing a nonstandard thermostatic air cleaner."-So regardles if you still have the housing for the cat, your truck could now be illegal. Now you can buy a high flow cat to solve this problem, and they are not that expensive.

getting back on post subject, as superdak stated, if you keep the cat and o2 sensors, you will not have a problem. if you remove one or both of those, you will be running into check engine lights left and right, and also not be able to pass emissions, if your state has emissions policies.

I heard about some gadgets that you plug up to the wires in place of the oxygen sensors and tells the computer everything ok,don't know if they're model specific or what but I heard they work.
