I think we all agree that his mpg average is not kosher. Your dealer should at least hook up to your code reader and see if there is a problem. If they can't find anything that way, what else are they supposed to do? I mean thier thing is probably "this guy has a lead foot". And as far as a class action lawsuit, it would just be your word against thiers regarding your "lead foot". Although unless you want to have some sort of independent testing done that is probably going to be expensive. If you are looking into the lemon law thing, then you probably haven't had your truck that long. Maybe your dealer would be willing to exchange your truck for a like model? But I doubt you will receive a refund for your truck because of your gas mileage.

Hey all,
Well heres more info, I have no mods at all, I did try an intake no difference in mpg, I don't lead foot just for the simply fact that I can almost watch the needle drop if I tromp the throttle, the dealer did hook up the computer and of course found no codes, I calculate my milage manually and on the average if I let it run till the needle touchs the E pin I am getting between 212 to 217 miles on 20 gals of gas which equals 10.6 to 10.8 mpg now that is roughly half city and half highway seem right ???????
My 01 QC DAk 4.7 got consistant 15 - 19 mpg driving it hard, I thought in 5 years they were to make strides to make vehicles more fuel efficent apparrently chrylser forgot that concept, I had to argue with the service manager for 10 min. before he actually looked for himself to see I was right and did not have an ALL WHEEL DRIVE model because thats what my VIN told him as well as it was a 3.7 lt v6 so frustrated I guess i just need to keep on them and make them hate me and maybe they will do what it takes to make me go away, again my wife being a lawyer is looking into options

Or buy a small economy car. Dodge trucks arent exactly known for having good mileage.

Sorry to here it YFZman. As you can see VERY few will try to help. Each has to put in their smart as$ remark. Wish you the best getting stuck with a lemon. It a dam shame this bored isn't like a biker board. When someone has a problem, the REAL mechanics come up with a solution. Sorry, we don't have any. Hell, half of them are still trying to figure out if they own a quad cab or a crew cab!! Good luck!

This is the advice you give?

I dunno if anyone has said this or not yet, but the ratings are usually tested at 45mph in the highest gear possible. Just to let you know.

YFZman,
You might try putting on a locking gas cap for awhile. You might be the 5 gallon gas can supplier for someone else.

If not, find someone or another dealer to look at the truck and see if the fuel metering is running to rich. I believe some of the 06's had problems with other issue's and had the PCM reflashed to fix them. Maybe a reflash could fix this problem, it might be worth asking about.

I'm sorry you are such an expert at everything Davey. Maybe you can change the whole world Davey with your infinite wisdom. Maybe someone should file a class action suit against Honda for angling the vtx speedo guage so low the sun glares off it.
