Default TPS mod

Has anyone done this to an 05-06 dakota? I have been reading on how to do this, but I think I am not following everything they are saying except to drill out some brass inserts and check some voltage. Feel free to chime in if you know what your doing.

first you will need to people. one to hold the tps at a certian point and one to hold volt gage and tight it down. simply remove tps. and drill out the two holes. replce the screws and bigger washers that way you can get more volts to the sensor which in turn will give it more pulse for gas. kinds risky, you could hit it or miss it.

ok, I checked the voltage on my tps. I think the wires are different on the 05. My middle wire reads .25 and the wire closest to the firewall reads .70. I need a little bit clearer instructions on how you adjust the tps, what exactly am I turning with my fingers?

After you drill out the brass rivets, the sensor will now be sort of sloppy(turnable) by about 1/8" or so. Turn the sensor to adjust voltage, tighten screws and recheck voltage as screw tightening may change volt setting. I don't know what to tell you about the wires, I have a 05 4.7L. I don't know if the sensor and/or wiring is different between the V6 and V8. Maxmax did this mod to his 05 4.7. If you can get in contact with him, maybe he could shed some light on the subject. The website says drill from the front of the sensor, you might want to ask him which side is the front. The side with the plug or the smooth side. Good Luck
