RE: Nerf Bars (steps)
I second that, unless you jack it up I wouldnt. I had a set on my SUV that sat low, they were a pain in the *** getting my uniform dirty if I didnt step way out. My troops always said "Capt I see you drove the VUE today" when I had dirt from those damm steps on my uniform.

I voted no steps because like someone else already said, the trucks sit too low for it and I dont care for the looks of them. I had them on my old explorer and they just got in the way. even on lifted vehicles like my dads 96 f250 it was easyer to just step into the truck than on those things.

If given the option I would not have them on my truck, but I needed to get them because my 4 year old son needed help getting in every time and my pregnant wife (on the short side) needed a bit of help stepping up too, I'm 6'4' so I don't need them ( I see many dirty pants legs in my future).
I got the chrome OEM bars because they fit closer to the body than any of the aftermarket ones I looked at. I also decided against running boards because of snow build up. I think black ones would help with the visual aspect (not lowering the look of the truck as much) because they don't show like chrome ones.
My two cents.

I ordered some chrome ones for my dakota from trucktec.com. Thoguh I think on the nightrunner the black ones would look hot on it. Mine cost me haha $155 and they're the same quality when I compare them to others like Westin or other trucks where the guys spent like $360.

thanks ill keep trucktech.com in mind...is there any way to powercoat metallic colors...for instance, brilliant black metallic, to match my truck.....i like how the black ones come powdercoated, but i think it would be nice for it to match my factory paint....without actually painting it bc that would get scratched fast

I don't know how to powder coat things like how the night runner rims are done. You might be able to go to a paint shop and ask them if they would be able to do it, might be expensive, not sure. Also, I gave you the wrong site earlier OOPS! I know some people don't like eBay, but I did buy mine on eBay, and I've had very good experiences with it. The seller name is TruckAccessoryoutlet
