The Dakota is so good some of you compare it to a truck in the next class up. That shuold show something, no ones comparing a Fronter or Ranger to a Tundra.

Grey I said it before thre grass isnt greener on the toyota side. If anyone in unterested I will give the email of a friend that has a 06 Tundra. He liked my DAK but said he would only by a toyota truck (so he did). His truck has been in the shop for MANY reasons. The already had to re-align the doors becasue they were rubbing the dashboard (and the had to replace the dash due to the damage from the door panels). The big thing is at 70-75 his truck vibrates real bad. They have determined it is in the motor some where. This truck has LESS that 2K miles on it. He is screaming lemon but toyota wont take it back. The tundra IMO is a POS. My truck is perfect (ex one time tranny jumped out of gear on a launch ramp, hasnt done it since). HE is afraid to call me as soon as I see his ID on my phone I answer "should of saved the money and bought a DAK." LAst night he told me it was back in the shop for a rough idle now...... No longer are they the King of quality...Has any one hear how the perfect Camery is blowing the trannies in the 07's, and the scandles toyota is going thru? Anyway tired of people bashing the Dak and sayin toyota is king, well my buddy will telly you to run form toyota!

Lil get off it man. You act as if I don't have legitimate reasoning here. I didn't cause my truck to be what it is. He He isn't so funny if you had such a terrible purchase experience.
I'm trying to have a good purchase here and giving DC another chance but I can't help it if the ordering process is already a problem since the factory is not up to speed yet on the 07s. SO chill girl. Ill buy a Tundra for me not for you so I can leave the forum.
I'm sorry graycloud, I guess after a whole summer of your post about your current truck I can't imagine why you would accept another Dakota in exchange, but get your money back instead.
Don't leave the forum just why not talk about other things like mods and stuff, maybe share some of your wisdom and give some advice other than how the users issues ties into your truck.
Lastly Get a Grip....this is a forum you take things way to personal.

Good point as I never considered the Tundra in the same class of the full size USA P-UPS. Toy had to market it as full size since they started making true mid size.

Toyota's truck is the Tacoma for the "mid-size". As far as I'm concerned, Dakota is really in a class of it's own. It's bigger than the foreign jobbies (Ridgeline, Frontier, Tacoma) and much more powerful. It also includes a V-8, where the others don't. I wouldn't buy a Toyota, Nissan and definitely not the Honda. If I decide to upgrade my truck, it'll be a RAM. I love Dodge.

Graythang, I hope you find something that you like. If you like the Toyotas, then go get one and share your experience with us. I personally think they're uglier than most of the trucks out there (MO). Just like any vehicle out there, they're going to have their issues, just like Dodge.

This will probably **** alot of you off, but being the new guy it's my job right and to learn my place? Here goes, do you actually (everyday or at least monthly) use or need the 4x4, V-8 (towing) or AWD? If yes, then disregard the rest. I have owned my '06 ST, CC 3.7L for two months. I drove everything else, ranger, frontier, tacoma, colorado. There was no comparison. But here is what I did. I sat down and really thought do I need 4x4, V-8, power windows, power locks and all these fancy do-dads that would end up tagging on another $3-4K AND going out and needing repair one day? No, I drove out with a damn good truck that will tow, haul and get decent mileage AND have $3800 in cash left over to make it look just as bad *** as all the other guys that spent $24K on their trucks. Go buy a stripped down version of whatever you want, and have fun just owning a truck that you can make look awesome all on your own. Best decision I've made in years and I'm love'n having all this fun. Not to mention my big left forearm from rolling down my own window!

Well that is your opinion. I bought mine with everything, leather, heated seats, V8 I pay for convience. I did however not get 4x4 as here in TX I would never use it, I have no interest in off roading. I rather tap a button to roll my window down and keep my arms the same size :}

My last truck 03 EC Silverado,started having various small things going wrong,plus the front end was butt ugly,checked the Canyons what a joke,Toyota,Nissan no incentives,decided on the Dakota,CC, ST, RWD with heated buckets with electric drivers side,center console,tilt and cruise,4.7,,,,5 speed auto, stickered out just above 24k, bought when they had that employee pricing going on last year $16,500,I think I did pretty good.
