that's good for peeps who wanna lower their trucks...my own personal preference, I want mine higher...like a 6" lift with 3" body lift would be SICK haha

The lowered shocks from AIM look good. Exactly what I was going to contact QA1 about building for me. $379.00 doesn't sound like too high of a price either. Every Dakota that I have bought (and my '05 is #4) has come with shocks that felt worn-out. I've tried Monroe and Gabriel - they were worse than stock. The only decent shocks that I have ever had on my Daks was a set of Edelbrocks.
Now - what about the rears ?

now i'm sure edelbrock doesn't make shocks for the 05 dakota because that would just be a bright idea which one is able to think of in the shock industry i guess....but how were they compared to the other shocks?

Edelbrock IAS shocks on mt '97 Dak were the best modification that I ever made to that truck. Second best was a decent set of tires.

The factory shocks are on the mild side because the test drives feel soooooo smooth and almost car like. BUT after living with factory shocks and tires you come to realize that you can’t live with them much longer. Not good for Mopar part sales I might add. The TRX4 shocks on Gaythang I seem far more robust than the non TRX4 shocks. Almost too harsh with the BFGs and the stiffer springs and 1" factory lift.
Very little bounce even from the front end. My 95 DAK road like a baby carriage or a Lincoln Towncar with 100k on it. I changed the shocks on it within the first year to Gaberal and that fix that crapy ride. True the Gen3s are the red headed step child of the Dodge truck line. Aftermarket parts are sparse at best and yes most part catalogs stop at 2004 and have just a few Gen3 bling parts to offer.

Good point, I may look into it. I'll wait another month or 2 to see if the shock manufacturers do anything, I'd be happy I think with good shocks, which shouldn't cost anywhere near 400 bucks either
