Default K&N FIPK kit

I am looking at installing a K & N kit and don't know if I should use the 63 or 77 series. 63 series is cheaper, 77 series has metal piping. Anybody have a knowledge-based opinion on this? Also, hope to add a Fastman TB this summer, and I'm wondering, are there any compatibility issues with the 2 items?

Assuming you have a 4.7 in your truck the 63 series adds 9 hp while the 77 series only adds 7 hp. As far as compatability I'm not sure.

I have the 63,they're not CARB approved so they're not street legal,so technically I guess if the inspectors paid close attention they might snag you on that even though it hooks up like all the rest.Where I live it's still the OL horn, lights, brakes you get a inspection sticker.I was just looking at their site the 57 series looks like exactly like the 63 except it is CARB approved I guess thats the price difference,

I used to plastic one because it will retail less heat. I had the 77 on a different truck looked good but thought it got to hot...

go with the 63 series. the only reason why the 77 is more expensive is because of the look. but because its metal its actually not as good as the plastic one because it heats up more. the 63 might look like less, but its definetely better. very satisified with mine.

Thanks folks, 63 it is. After my next inspection, I'll go with 2 year tags. By the time I'm up for inspection again it should be approved.
