there is a gold ball in the mech. that opens the bag. designed to complete a circut when a certain velocity is achieved. if you read through your manual... our trucks are equiped with single stage 2nd generation airbags. Designed to deploy in accedents where speed is in excess of 20 MPH. now this is just according to the guy at my dodge dealer. I called about a different thread, and asked this too. IDK the dealer isn't exactly the first place I would go for info though.

Hey for the parts you need. I am possibly getting a new DS headlight fixture soon, mine, has a small chip out of the corner of it, but it does not affect the use at all, it's just chiped. Here is a pic of it below. When I get my new one I will be happy to send you my old one for like $20 (shipping costs and all).

one thing I'm curious about is if you could actually sue or hold somebody responsible if your airbags do not deploy. I know on most, if not all new cars, come standard with driver/pass airbags at least, but is this a modern day requirement for all manufacturers? If so, they would need to somehow be included in the inspection process I would think...
