I just called up the guy who installed my Flowmaster 40 muffler, to get an estimate on converting my truck to a true dual exhaust. He told me that it was illegal to take a vehicle that comes stock where the heads come into a single pipe, cut the Y off and make them two separate pipes. Sooooo I can't make my truck a true dual

 

Take it to an independant muffler shop, you won't be able to pay by credit, and you won't get a receipt...

But they CAN do it. :-)

 

Or, just have him make an X pipe for it.

 

what's an X pipe?

 

basically two y pipes welded together, without the collector in the middle...

he wont do it period, its just illegal to have 2 pipes if the car was made with one...the laws here are weird...lol
