throttle body update
Let's just say that it's a bit more perky. I talked to Dan and he does ECU flashing. He charges $400 for it. I'll probably do that after a couple of years. Man, this truck will be stout as ever. Too bad it takes all of these mods to do it though.
Between Dan and KRC Performance, cams are about $750. The flash is the same thing as using the Superchips module. He also told me that polishes and ports the heads on it. He didn't give me a price, so I can't tell you.

I got a quote from ferris automotive (a local engine shop) and they told me to port, polish and flow match it would run me between 375 and 450... and tehy would need my truck for a week or so... I asked them about boring over a littel and they said that they would have to see if they could get pistons and stuff. but to bore a normal truck runs 600. (seems kinda high I dont remember what size bore it was... not a huge bore or anything though.)
A bore would be a huge waste of money, I built motors for a few years and honestly, for the amount of work to tear the engine down, pay for the pistons and rings, bore and reassemble for maybe 5 or 6 HP...total waste. We only recomend a bore if the engine is tired, coming apart already and the holes are out of spec. Now, a bore and a stroker kit would be nasty, but just a bore...waste.
Unless I was serious about drag racing my truck, i wouldn't bother with the stroker kit. Way too much money. I agree though, it'd be worth it in the end. Probably could find a good strocker engine in the junk yards.
