Air Ride suspension

So, I have been looking for a way to keep my nose from rocking over bumbs... bilstien now makes heavy duty front shocks, that seem to work on the V8 daks... I already ordered my new shocks, but found this airlift kit a couple of weeks ago, but lost the link. I found it again when I was looking through a different threads links for lowering kits...

this is a complete airlift kit for our 3rd gen daks... figured I would start an official thread so eventually people can search for it...

Umm, I am not sure if you have ever looked into air ride, but 2 grand is actually a fair and average price... take a look at this kit. a cheap one for my model mustang... http://www.mrbodykit.com/airride/index.htm
add up the components needed and you will see it is close to 3,000...
this isn't for everyone. but for those of you who want air ride, there is a link for you. I dont think anyone can ignore the fact that there is not a better ride than air ride. The only dis-advantage to air ride is off road capability.

Air ride is definatly expensive as my truck just went in the shop to get dropped 3 inches and a complete air ride setup. No mater what website has a "kit" for our dakota it is not complete and there is a lot of custome fabrication to keep all the angles correct and have that floating on air feeling. My total install after a hookup to get the parts at wholesale is $5000.00 installed ... also if you are wanting to drop it like that you will need custome ofset wheels as the factory +18 leave the wheels and tires flush with the outside of the fenders. I have more detail of what i am doing in the NM chapter of Dodgetruckworld.com.
When I looked on bilstein's web site, there was no listing for our trucks and I remember a post saying they wouldn't bo available until the end of 2007. The ones listed earlier were actually for a Jeep Liberty.
There is a company that I saw at SEMA that has coil-overs they said will work on our trucks for about $379.

umm... I have done air ride on many light trucks... unless you have one heck of a system, 5000 is very steep. if you would look into the shockwave setups, they replace your factory shocks... keeping all angles the same and the only major parts needed are struts... you should have checked around. My friend with his 3rd gen ordered his already, and we are putting it on in the shop this weekend.
I would check with your hook up to see if the kit was for your truck.

Maybe you should read some other forums first. I may be fiarly new to this forum, but others claim that Air BagI t stuff SUCKS! I cant speak from personal experience but many others have. I'm staying far away from that company.
ericemery, Didn't mean to imply you only hung out on this forum, just that others are swamped with info on this product. And the product I'm refering to is onthe link of the original post which is the air bag it system. It's sold under many different names, but the product is still the same.
