new question
ok, so we all know tint can eliminate up to 99% of UV rays that enter your vehicle depending on brand of tint. what about the stock "tint"? does that eliminate any UV rays? the "stock tint" isnt a layer of film, its glass with a dye in it.
I've read about privacy glass used on wine chillers that block UV rays, they look to be the same kind of glass. Now thinking that dodge uses the same glass then yes the privacy glass blocks UV rays. It's not too expensive to coat it in UV block so they probably do.
I just askedat www.askdrz.comso I'm waiting for a response from "Dr. Z" a.k.a. customer assistance... I've found the site very helpful in finding out obsecure info on cars that isn't on dodges site...
Wow... that's crappy... they said "The information you are seeking is unavailable from DaimlerChrysler
Motors Corporation. General information on the subject matter may be
available through your local dealership."...so yeah... idk

The factory glass does block UV rays... Flim blocks rays more efficiently, and depending on the tint you use, you will find more often than not that privacy glass does not block as much as stated... if you are worried about UV, apply a light film to your factory privacy glass. Or apply a UV shield clear film. (Pain in the *** to install BTW!)
