The RT package on the gen 3 is all cosmetic, nothing special about them mechanically. I would wait for the 08s, should start seeing them by August.
They have the best of everything that is available on any of the 3g's including the HO 4.7 They are also very rare, how many here have even seen one? according to Dodge they only made 4,000 of them in 06 and something close to that is predicted for all of 07. I would also be willing to bet that a joke 3rdGen R/T will have a higher resale value in the end than any of the rest. and speaking of the HO 4.7, those motors are not the most comon options on the street either. I have only seen a very few of them on the road and of the 25 or so at the dealer when I bought mine it was the only one with that option. Mine does appear to be quite the joke around town, I have had numerous people tell me what a stupid weak little joke of a truck mine is, I'm so ashamed of it. [sm=confused06.gif]

No that's what people with one would deny I'm not saying that if it's not mine it's a joke. But you can't really call it an R/T (Road and Track) when nothing on it makes it any more worthy at the track.Stickers don't add handling orpower. At least the Gen II's had larger sway bars, 1" lower suspension, tuned exhaust, posi rear, and advanced timing. And it was the only way to get a 360 in a regular or extended cab. Could they have done better? Hell yes. I even think my style R/T was kind of a joke. There are plenty of Mopar off the shelf parts they could ahve thrown on it and made it great. SO I guess I was expecting them to do something like that with the Gen 3's, but they did even less. Sorry if I offended you. I was just really disapointed when they came out with the new R/T. I'm glad you're happy with it.

Actually, I'm inclined to agree with you. The 2nd Gen Daks R/T's were unique from the normal Daks. I wish they had done something different with the truck. The engine should have been different and the cosmetics too. I'm very disappointed with the 3rd Gen R/Ts, not that I don't like them.

I mean, for crying out loud, they have the same wheels as mine.

I have already changed all the stuff Dodge didn't and would have anyway if it had the same mods of a 2ndG.

I may be wrong here, but arnt the R/Ts set up to run 200 at the wheels? I havent checked it out, but I thought thats what I heard at the dealership. I drove 2, and they are deff. faster than my Q.C 4.7l was stock. I think I would get one now though. I pull a lot harder than I did befor. (but if they do put 200 to the wheels, then maybe it just needs to be broke in...)
Of course it's going to have close to 200 at the wheel, but that's only because of the HO engine. If we could turn more than 230 at the crank with the stock engine, then we'd get close to two hundred also.

I'm talking about the styling. Big difference between the Gen 2's and the R/T's. Different motor and different wheels, different heighth, etc. That's why I'm disappointed in the R/T's for our Gen. Not that I don't like them. I'd buy one, or would have if they had come out at the same time as my truck.

Plus, they are also available with 4wd.
