Default Dash vibration / rattle

I have an 06 QC 4.7V8 w/ the 6spd. There is an annoying rattle in my dashboard. It typically only happens in 1st when I'm letting the clutch out. It is somewhere around the vents. I am going to take the center dash bezel out and see what I can find, anyone else have any insights on areas to focus on, things to look for? I wanted to try and find it myself before taking it in for a warranty repair. I really like the truck but I'm a little annoyed by this, this thing seems to rattle more than my 90 Dakota with 195k on it!

I would check to make sure nothing got put down the vents. I've had people come in with a rattle complaint and it turned out to be a pen or change that got dropped into the vents without them knowing it. If you have kids or drunk friends it'smore likely anyway!

No drunk friends and no kids.

I tore the dash apart tonight.

Took out the center bezel. That was not it.

Took off the A-pillars and the long piece of trim at the base of the windshield. That was not it.

Stuffed some foam under the dash cover between it and the defrost tubing. That was not it.

There is still a stinking rattle in there right in the middle of the dash. Tomorrow the gauge cluster comes and the radio comes out. I'm convinced the problem is in the dash. If I can't find it then it goes to the dealer. Very frustrating!

Took the gauge cluster and the radio out and got up into the dash. Whatever is rattling is at the base of the windshield. I'm thinking it is maybe a defrost duct.

Mine has a rattle. I have noticed if I press down on the pass. air bag cover it goes away. might want to check that. Next time I go in for sevice I'm going to have the dealer take a look at it.

I'll give the air bag cover a try. I haven't found anything else that seems to stop it. I've had almost the entire dash apart except the air bag area.
