crutchfield offers these, i've never seen them before but i may just have forgotten about them. anyone knows if the diminsions on this sub box would fit behind a quad cab seat?? anyone know the deepest box possible for those seats? here it says 6 1/2.

Your best bet would probably be to measure the clearance yourself. If you're willing to build your own box you should take a look at elemental designs sq10 sub. The mounting depth is only 3" and all the reviews I've read on it were very good.

Dud I am working on a fiberglass box for our trucks... you have a Max of 7 inches at the bottom of the seat.. only 2 1/4 at the top... I have been fighting this thing for like a month. I do this for a living and its a biotch... The deepest sub your looking at without hitting the seat is 5 1/2 inches... thats providing you can fiberglass the concave indent so the box provides clearancefor the sub... It aint fun, there is no room back there... MTXs thunderform is also not accurate in the airspace they suggest. I called them and they told me it had .66 cubic feet. but with a simple packing peanuts test it showed .4-.5 at best...
Ericemercy, out of curiosity since you do this for a living what's your take on the ed sq10 sub? It seems like it might be really good for that space since it only needs .3 cu ft according to the specs. I'm trying to talk my dad into letting me put one is his ram to see how they sound.

I have heard a few Elemental designs subs... the SQ subs sound great, but do not get very loud... hence the name I guess. for the price they are good, I compare them with JL W 0's (last years subs...) or just like a new w1v3...
I like the ED subs and amps though... great quality. if you come across a NINE.1 get it!!!

Well if MTX makes a thunderform for the quad cabs that should fit, I can't offer any insight on their stuff though, never had anything by them. Couldn't hurt to give them a call, in the end what you should go with depends on what your goals for the sub are. Alternatively see if you can get ericemercy to make a box for you once he finishes his design
Edit: after some quick research on google and ebay all I could find was the mtx box for the 04 down quad cabs. I thought I had seen people saying they fit into the gen 3's somewhere but I'm not sure, either way there doesn't appear to be many aftermarket options so you're probably looking at that thunderform if it fits or getting a box made.

the mtx fits in the gen 3's too... they are the same as the gen 2s I guess... I will snap a couple quick pics of the version 2 box... it is only wrapped in fleece right now, so thats why it looks so rough... Check back soon for the pics...
