a g-tech is a tool that you can use to calculate 1/8. 1/4 times, HP/TQ and other stuff. I have a G-tech pro that is about a year old... look em up in google, I like mine, but people have mixed emotions about them...
I wonder if the jet chips work the same on the new ones as they did on the 97-04 years. They were useless on ours. After about 200 miles the PCM would "correct" itself, bypassing any gain fromt he chip. Unless you reset your PCM all the time. They were just an expensive paperweight. I guess time will tell.
I heard that about the JetChip and the ECU. I was told that it tells the computer that 2+2=5 and then the ECU figures it out later and corrects it. If that's true, then I'm going to be very disappointed and I'll spend the cash on getting the ECU flashed.
I actually LOST a tenth of a second consistentlyin the1/8witha stage 2Jet chip! Took it off and immediatly gained back my tenth. It went right into the "Disect it just to see how it works, then throw it away" box
