Default Flat/Roadside tire change

Here's a question a lot of people probably haven't thought about yet, especially if they just recently bought their Dak....

I know I can simply look in my owners manual, but I'm at work at the moment(and you can see I'm very busy), and this question just popped into my head -

how do we access the spare tire on our trucks? I know some trucks have a crank in the bumper that lower the tire, some have a bolt under the tire that does it, how do we get to ours?

Ok well seeing as I have had a pretty bad experience changing my tire on the Dak ill tell you how. First off if you have a club cab open the passenger rear door. Look under the seat and you will see a little access door.Open it up and you will see the jack. There is a little hand crank that have to lower to get it out. After you get the jack out tek all the tools out from there. Assemble them all together except for the one with a hook on it.You should have a long rob put together thats about 5 feet long. Now make sure you have a square hole at the end because thats what catches in the spare.Look right above your plate on the rear bumper. Shove the rob into there and you will feel it cath, lower the spare tire down to the ground. Now this is where it gets tricky. To take the tire off the holder you have to push two bottons in, pull the tire up and push two more so it will come free from the holder. After you get it off you can just crank the cable back up. In the manual it says to put your flat back on it to aviod tangling the cable but you dont have to. Pretty much if you try to go by the manual to do it youll have a hard time. They dont explain anything in it. It took me over a hour just to get my tire down.

i haven't actually read the manual to confirm this, but i believe we have a crank to lower it. there's a hole to the left of the license plate that'll allow you to insert the lug wrench to crank it down.

at least that's what i assume that hole is for. if not, it's rather pointless.

Do you have a battery powered impact too so that you don't have to turn the lug nuts? lol!!

this is good to know for when/if i have a flat. i'll have to remember to be patient when that happens, since it sounds like it's a rather frustrating procedure.

strangely enough, i've had just three flats in my driving life, all three in my parent's driveway in fair (but cold) weather.

yes, i did just knock on wood.

Well here's a few for you.

Maybe you could make an attachment for your drill so that you don't have to raise the jack by hand too!! lol! I was just giving you a hard time for not wanting to do it by hand. Although, this battery powered impact isn't a bad idea! No cord or air hose to mess with.
