water-fording intake?
I'm going to guess that a water-fording intake is an air intake that blocks water from entering it under high water level situations. NOW my question, anyone know where to get these things or how much they cost? I'm just curious.
if your talkin ram air, most already do block water. even my 93 hawk is ok in the rain...now, i cant just have the hood open and hose down the engine, it cant handle that because once the hood is open, if water get in the intake (the box is open when the hoods open) i will get water in my engine....

Yeah that's the idea I got when i read about the intake, the one on the Jeep. I like those, was wondering about getting one eventually on my truck if it was possible. Anyone ever gotten this installed?

My brother has one on his wrangler... he got his at gulf truck in alabama. ran him 350. but it is a custom made one and they had to cut holes in the inner and outer fender...

I've seen some pretty aggesive 2WD setups for off-roading, but going through deep enough water to warrant an intake like that is probably not possible without 4WD. Just my .02. If you like the look, that's another thing. If you actually plan to use it, you might be over your head....lol...get it...deep water...over your head...need a snorkel...I kill me.
hahahaha yes you do. well...yeah you got a point there of probably pushing my truck TOO FAR. Exactly my point, trying to push my truck as far as those 2 wheels in the back will take it. BUT!!! my grand master plan, to hopefully add a front axle someday, will cost some money but totally worth it on this truck.

Just so everyone knows... a snorkel kit is not a high flow intake... so if you do replace a K&N or other short ram/ cold air intake, you will be a little more restrictive... Just tossing it out there. not trying to talk anyone out of it...
