Default MediaCenter 430 upgrade?

I am getting a 2011 Dodge Durango Heat and am getting the mediacenter 430 without navigation in it. Does anyone know if it is easy to swap the mediacenter 730N with this headunit? Or a way you can put a navigation on the 430?

730 should be fine and connect right in. The early releases came with the 430 but they are all shipping 730 now or soon will be.

With that said, I would go aftermarket on the replacement. Cost less, more features. The 730 is tad dated as is.

Ok... What would be a good unit to replace it with? One that would also hook up to all the features the MediaCenter 430 has like the uconnect and voice, and steering wheel controls?

Crutchfield.com or your local high-end car audio specialists in your local high rent district.

I have a 2009 that I would like to put a 730 in. Is it a direct plug in?

With the differences in the dash from the Gen2 to the Gen3, I doubt it.

You could also look for the 430N and this would be a direct plug and play swap out.

I just purchased a 2011 Heat without navi myself and after doing some research i decided to have the dealer put in an aftemarket kenwood unit. Kenwoods most expensive unit has voice command features just like the factory dodge one and its only $1200. Just google kenwood navigation. The better aftermarket navi's like the alpine in my ram have bluetooth and is backup camera capable along with DVD and ipod capabilities. The biggest pro to aftermarket vice stock is that u dont have to pullover and put it in park to type in a destination like you do with the factory nav

For stock systems, one can just purchase lockpick for $249 , http://www.coastaletech.com/MYGIG.htm , and this unlocks all functionality. One can then enter address while moving. It even ADDS more video inputs and makes them available through the touchscreen.
