The running boards I purchased, I am not happy with. There is a very good chance I am going to either return them or see if they fit my husbands truck. But, I don't think I want them on my Durango. My kids can get in with the need of the running board and I am SO afraid it is going to make my ride look fugly!!

Love the deep dish. Step tubes look good too.

Ordered the factory running boards when we bought the D in January. By April they still hadn't shipped with no word on when they might. Put on the black "square" tube steps, which stick out a little, but look good. Wanted factory units as they're covered under the vehicle's warranty. The boards put on my Ram years ago started to peel after 2 years and were replaced with no questions.

I had an 05 Durango that came with the factory molded running boards, and I used them all the time even though I'm tall. Then when shopping a 2012 Durango, I thought I had to have them. Then I compared my 05 with the 2012 without boards, and figured out why I used and needed the boards on the 05; they were in the way! I had to use them to get in because they were so wide that it made it difficult not to use them. The 2012 sits a bit lower and without boards in the way, no problem. The factory molded ones are pretty useless anyway, too narrow to really use, and they sit right below the door - so much higher than on the 05. No boards for me!

I ended up deciding to "try out" the running boards I bought and I am happy with them. My new wheels stick out a bit further than the factory wheels, so it actually helps the running boards look good. At least I think so. But, honestly, the best part is that my kids can get into my Durango now without having to "climb."

Where did you get these and what brand are they? I like them and my 3 small kids will be alot cleaner from these than sliding in and out of the Durango.

They are from Westin. I had to order the mounting kit from a separate website. By the way, I was able to easily peel the Westin sticker off the running boards. No offense to westin, but I thought their sticker was really fugly, so it had to go.

I'll admit the front brackets were easy to put on. My husband said lots of foul language while putting on the back brackets. The space available to drill the hole that was needed way very tight.

I have those same ones on my '04 Avalanche. Really love them compared to the oval step bars that I had on there that completely rusted to crap after 3 years. I debated getting them for the Durango, but decided not to. Now that I know what they look like on it, I might have to reconsider that decision
