Ordering a car from Dodge is a joke

The R/T was always announced as a late delivery BTW. With that said, if they are shipping to the general public unordered, then yours should be done before theirs. If theirs were ordered by the dealers before yours, just not yet sold to the public, then you are behind them in the order queue. The dealers buy and pay for their inventory, so I think the issue is more with your dealer, their clout and when they actually ordered verses others in the end.

I get it that waiting sucks. Maybe you get a 2012 out of the deal.

I got my call from Dodge today and well. All I can say is they flat out lied to me.
This chick calls me to follow up on yesterdays phone call. Tells me she understands I am frustrated but will followup and get back to me later in the day. She tells me she was going to call my dealer right after we were done talking. This was about 10:45 or so when she told me this. I went to the dealer at 3:30 to see how the conversation went. He told me he didnt know what I was talking about so I had to explain. He told me nobody called him. He asked me why she said she had to call him and I told him the as a dealer they had more info on whereabouts of the car then Dodge has. So she had to call. He said that was BS. Then picked up the phone called his rep for Dodge and jumps all over him. He asks him where my car is and if he followed up from yesterdays conversation. Not sure everything that was said on the other end but my dealer did alot of talking. Told this guy he needs to find out why the car is not here yet.
So he gets off the phone and tells me that I am not the only one waiting. He told me they are waiting on 2 other cars. One was ordered in February and its just setting there and they will not ship it. He told me he has lost 2 other sold cars as Dodge could not get the cars to them and they got pissed and told them to forget the orders. Pat the owner of the Dodge dealership told me he would pull the one in for me from about 60 miles away if i wanted him to. I said I would really like to have the one I ordered as I didnt want the 1695.00 rear entertainment setup with no kids and I didnt want the adaptive cruise control. I did tell him I want a free extended warranty and to make sure they give this to us as it is a joke how long this is taking. He told me he would pass the word on.
I assured them that I am not pissed at the dealer. They have been great calling evrytime I am there and trying to get me my car. This is our 3rd purchase from this dealer and the best dealership I have ever worked with as far as how they treat customers.


So tomorrow I am calling Dodge back as I now have a case file opened on this and going to see what they say when i call them on the lies they promised me today.

oh the dealer got in a Crew model today as well whicj he showed me wa sordered after mine....

still no Durango
still no word from anyone at Dodge where the truck is
still a bunch of lies

I called first thing this morning to ask why I never got my call back yesterday as promised and why the idiots in customer care did not follow through with calling dealer like promised. I get this chick Stephanie on the phone and she proceeds to tell me that she never got around to making any calls yesterday. Told me that she had things to do and never had the chance to do anything. NOT what I wanted to hear. I was instantly pissed. She calls me a liar says she never told me she was going to call me back and told me she never promised to call the dealer that day.
So now that I am pissed I asked to speak to her supervisor. Get this supervisor Tina on the phone. Tell he how I am not impressed with employees of hers who lie to customers to tell them something just to shut me up for a few hours. I also told her the case working in Stephanie I was done with as I had no faith in her for being able to do her job. I wanted all communications to come to me from Tina this supervisor. I went throught he entire story again how not one person in this billion dollar company can trace a 40k plus car and can not tell me anything where it even is. Told her how dealers are getting cars for the lot and I cannot get mine. She told me(8:46am) that she would call the dealer and call me back before the end of the working day.
So around 4:00pm I called her left message. I get a call back around 4:20 and it was Stephanie telling me she had an update for me. I first asked why i was talking with her and she said because she was my case manager. I said no I asked to deal with Tina only as I didnt think she was smart enough to do the job she is being paid to do.


This Stephanie chick then tells me that I have to now wait 30 days from day car was shipped from factory to place a locator search. I said you got to be kidding me. She told me no and said its policy. I said put me on the phone with Tina. I asked why I did not get a call back from Tina. Was then told by Stephanie that my Dodge dealer never bothered to return the phone call back to Tina so she had no news for me. I said I wanted to speak to Tina and she told me she would have her call me. I said no i will wait.
While waiting I called Turpin dodge on other phone. Turpin told me yes he got the messgae from Tina at 9:00am give or take a few minutes and called her back and left a message.
This Tina chick finally picks up the phone with me and tells me that she can not do anything as Turpin Dodge has not returned her phone call. I said well I am on the other line with Pat Turpin and he claims he called you and left you a message at 9:00 am shortly after you left his message. This was 7 hours earlier at this point and asked I ashed her why she lied or why she has not checked messages in 7 hours. SHe then tells me again she never got any messages from the dealer. So now the dealer is a liar. I was put on hold again and she called Turpin Dodge back. I am holding for 5 minutes or so and she comes back on tells me they are going to get a couple other people involved who may be able to help us figure where they might have taken my car to since nobody knows where the car actually is.It was also mentioned that the 30 day locator search Iw as told about is not something that is true. She told me she will have to call me Monday. I said I want a call by 9:00am or I was going to be on the phone again and calling myself.

We hung up phone.
I get a call a couple minutes later from my dealer who tells me he has not had a call from anyone in the management chain he is to go through. Tells me this guy Joe Leon(sp?) is on vacation but he will call this guy on Monday to get him involved. He does call this other guy James I think is his name. We are still waiting now for over 24 hours for James to make his return call back to Pat Turpin as James is not saying much.

At this point depending on how th econversation goes on Monday morning. I asked them to try and pull the Stone White R/T from another dealer about 80 miles away but I wanted it for same price as mine and a free extended warranty as I was not waiting any longer than the end of next week. Pat told me he will pull th ecar not a problem but will need to see what he can do on the pricing and warranty request. I said thats what i want so work on it and call me Monday..


So thats the latest rant for the day

You're an absolute mess over a car order. Cancel it and get something else - it's not worth all this.

I didnt want nothing else
if I did I would have bought it as we already wrote a check to the dealer to order this. Thats usually why you order a vehicle as you know what you want and want it a certain way.
We went to the Chicago Auto show and checked out every SUV there was. The Durango was the only one of them I liked.
We sold our daily driver in our Charger weeks ago when this was to be in.



We found out yesterday the Durango was setting in a holding yard. My dealer made a couple calls to his regional guy after he was back from vacation and he got the Durango on a truck and will be here today.
My issues is with this being 114 days now sice we ordered it. I understand it takes some time. We were told 6-8 weeks not 15
