Anyone know which wire to tap into for adding the rear camera function? Or must a new wire be run all the way to the back?

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking.

Do you already have a backup cam and want to know if the LockPick supplies power directly without adding new wires? The answer to that is YES. The LockPick interfaces directly with the vehicle harness to provide power to and receive video from the existing camera.

If you are adding a camera, then you need to run the power from the LockPick lead (provided) to the camera (so the camera is only powered when needed) and video from the camera back to the LockPick input (provided).

Thanks, I misunderstood the directions. I thought the Lockpick had a separate power lead that had to be connected to the existing back up camera to activate that camera via the lockpick interface...
I hope it is just plug and play. I don't want to have to run a wire all the way to the liftgate!

Thanks again,

Wayne

Nope, no wires...plug-n-play. LockPick activates the existing camera using the regular power source.

I have it all installed. I just forgot to add in the USB connector so I will be taking it apart again to put that in. It is working well. I have a couple issues that could be user error but will be asking Coastal tech:

pushing the power button twice is supposed to activate the back up camera but doesn't.
With the Iphone attached the back up camera resolution suffers
The right hand steering wheel buttons do not scan forward and back in either I pod mode...

Easy install, Just harrowing taking apart a reletively new car, and drilling a hole for the Ipod connection and the video in connections to come through.

Push the button with the phone icon twice. That activates the default camera view.

There is another thread for fixing the poor quality reverse camera.

Tried the phone button, voice command button, etc. There does not appear to be a single button to give rapid access to the rear cam....

Received this a month back and will be installing it this weekend! If you ask, "why the delay?" It's because it's for my wifes birthday, as the main reason I'm doing this is to ADD a backup camera. Waiting on the arrival of the rearview camera, but not looking forward to running a wire from the front to the rear. . .

I'm hoping I'll be able to plug in the aftermarket camera to an existing connector in the tailgate and go from there. We shall see.

Real easy install, running the wires to the back may be unpleasant though. Good luck!
