If I understand your question correctly: Yes. The two-speed transfer case has an AWD-Low setting which locks the diff.

The answer is yes. The 2 speed transfer case accomplishes this.

But if you are looking seriously to do the kind of off-roading as shown in the video clip....then the Durango is the wrong vehicle to use in those condition due to the low overhang of the front bumper definitely will put some damage to the front lip. The 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland Quadra Trac 2 is the vehicle you need to get if passenger space is not an issue!

+1

The ON-ROAD version is the Durango. The OFF-ROAD choice is the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Same platform, arguably the same vehicle +/- seating and suspension stuffs.

BTW, there was no 2010 Durango.

this video to clarify the system only. But driving on the sand requires the existence of this system.
I live in the area of semi-desert,and I need a car with 7 passengers. Jeep Grand Cherokee just 5 passengers.

thanks to all ...

If you are set on off-road, and you must have 7 passenger, then perhaps neither the Durango nor the JGC are fits for you.

Look into a full size SUV say perhaps the Land Rover Discovery 3 or an older Land Rover Defender based on the true level of off road needs.
