Installing Dash Kit

Installing Dash Kit
I don't know about everyone else but I think that the dash/trim around the stereo, around the shifter and the ceiling console look bland and the flat black plastic takes away from the rest of the interior. I'm thinking of getting a dash kit to make the interior a little nicer. What are everyone's thoughts on this? Has anyone else thought of doing this.

I agree these can look tacky but I also agree the interior could use a little more. I was considering ordering one of these sets and potentially just using some pieces to avoid over doing it.
I would like to match the existing pieces on the doors and just above the glove box (2011 RT). Not sure how the titanium burl would match that color.

what you need to do is a finishing process called hydrocarbon
here is an example of a modified Viper dash with hydrocarbon finish instead of the stock plastic looking finish
I am in the process of converting my 2000 Durango to allow for indash NAV and will have it finished just like this Viper

Hydro Carbon?
Must be called different things in different places. Most places that I am aware of, the process is called Hydro Imaging, not Hydro Carbon. Carbon is simply just a color, one of thousands, you can accomplish with the imaging process. My stocker woodgrain was done factory using the same process.

Hydrographic Printing ( Cubic Printing )
Cubic Printing is a decoration technology that uses a specialised film printed with a range of natural and abstract patterns to decorate complex shaped plastics, metals and other materials.
The specialised film is floated on the water surface and transfer of the pattern is effected by the pressure of the water. With this method, even decoration of complex 3 dimensional shapes is possible.
The Cubic Printing technology can decorate plastic, metals and ceramic, audio-video products to automotive interiors, expressing high-quality woods and sharply defined lined-patterns.
Is Water Transfer Printing durable?
We like to let our product speak for itself. Some of our largest clientele are automobile and boat manufacturers who demand highest standards of quality and durability. Many parts we manufacture spend the majority of their lives in direct exposure, such as boat instrument panels. The clear coat we use is automotive grade, designed to withstand nature and time.

Well... nothing in there that you posted says "Hydro Carbon."
Google Hydro Imaging and you will find thousands of things related to the process.
Google Hydro Carbon and be prepared for a chemistry lesson with nothing to do with water based imaging.
Just saying.
I'll admit however, Cubic Printing is a new one on me.
It is great stuff (expensive however) no matter how you call it I guess.
