Yeah I agree, I love the looks of the truck but the performance is definately less than inspiring. I might try the hypertech tune to give her a bit more pep, but I' m a year into a 36 month lease so she'll be gone before I dump too much money into her anyhow.

I hoped none of you expected this thing to be really fast anyways with its curb weight to hp ratio. Also it has towing and AWD. If you wanted something to go fast and suv should have paid an extra 10-25k for the GC.

I test drove it and knew what I was getting into... There's no way as much as I love the looks/performance of the GC SRT8 there's no way I would pay $65k-$70k for a jeep!

Same here. I drove one not once but twice before I decided to buy the Durango. And I like the GC but way too much for an SUV. The Durango is the best Family SUV on the Market right now in my Opinion.

I could not agree more. I traded my SS Trailblazer for my R/T and yes I miss the speed but love the overall package with the D. No regrets

Can only go so fast on the road anyways. I was always a GM guy this is my only 2nd Dodge I ever bought my entire life rest were GM. My first car was a 1998 Dodge Neon R/T when I was in High School. Put over 100k on it before I traded for my first Chevy lol big mistake I miss that car.

closed mouths dont get fed buddy...forums are not just
here for the good in life. just because you only had dodges and you are
used to getting less for your $$,
doesnt mean its a great truck, or meets everyones expectations.
mayne if you drove or owned a real performance SUV you'd
have something to compare it to. it is NOT a performance vehicle,
its brakes are pathetic, have you peeked at your rear rotors yet?
nows a good time...
wow he doesnt like it when someone bashes something that they own and have
every right to complain about lol wow! i wuv my duwango pweeze no say bad things about my dodge its da bestest in da whole wide world...wah wah wah

since 2003!? lol wtf...bro since 2003 ALL CARS have gotten better !
WAYYYY BETTER! even hyundai and kia make good cars now
the problem is theres nothing special or unique about the durango
or especially the R/T- it has zero performance improvements over the other
models in the bunch, and its NOT worthy of R/T nametags.
my 2006 SS would pee on this truck. every suv seats 7 and has heated seats
blah blah not impressed - i bought an R/T expecting performance, or something more than badges and monochrome paint.

no wonder people in this country get endlessly pissed on, we settle for average, we shut up and pay our taxes, work 5+ days in echange for 1-2 days off...and we're happy with mediocrity and allowing others to screw us and have nothing to
answer to...and we think those that expect more and speak up about it
are the problem...

enjoy your cute but boring, and uninspiring, and not performance
oriented durango R/T...
I'll be in an SRT8 or cayenne turbo or another trailblazer SS laughing at you with my middle finger up soon enough as I pass the crap outta you in the left lane, while your tranny waits a few seconds then maybe decides to let you
accelerate...whipping hard turns at 80mph..shoot i can do all that that to you now in my nissan maxima...may the eco mpg's be with you !
my wife can have this slow and boring truck with baby sized brakes and zero aftermarket...maybe you can put some rims and r/t badges on your soapbox
it will probably pickup stop and handle like your bland durango R/T

quit foolin yourself you overpaid for an suv with a big motor and no substance
we all did...its ok

I don't totally disagree with everything you said....but everyone has their reason for owning a DD. I have 3 kids and i needed 3 rows with decent room and something besides an Acadia/Enclave..type of SUV. I have always wanted a Charger SRT-8...but its just not in the cards. I agree power isn't quite SRT like, but its better than the other alternatives that i could choose from. I might have waited for the Explorer Sport with the ECO-Boost engine and but i needed to tow, carry 6 adults in a pinch and get something that looks good. Its not the perfect SUV, but it does a lot of things well. I wish the HEMI had more HP/TQ...but its not going to happen. Ever since i purchased this thing i've been Modding it as best i can. I will likely try the Hypertech, air intake and throw 22's on it.....

Man ... your DD is hard...old school term for "nice". Everytime I see those rims u selected I'm like he's on another level with that look. I would have never bought a DD but when I went to the dealership last year I had to have it and I'm a 3x 4Runner owner, drive nothing but Toyota but this Dodge made me rethink my decision and I went another route and purchased the DD. I must admit it is an eye-catcher...when they see me rolling they all wanted know what I'm driving. Never pulled it out the garage until I put some wheels on it and that's why it's getting the attention. I can't wait till the summer to cruise. I agree with you a jeep for $50+ is laughable, even though it has a mean look and interior that has a wow factor...still it's too much...the DD was the way to go at least right now. I can' wait to see what SUV tops this look within 2 years.

fintan u know I'm liking the viper reps...the wheels set this DD off.My DD are with the chrome reps and I'm loving it. The V reps takes the look of the SUV to another level.
