Default HELP new owner!!!

So my car has about 50 miles on it. I have never owned a V8 before which is why I'm not sure if this is normal. I have the R/T and when I come to a stop the car starts shaking, it's a little less with A/C off but this is quite a noticeable shake.

Is this normal or am I taking this car right back where it came from?

There should not be much vehicle movement from the motor.

It could be, but I dont recall any abnormal shaking. I would just swing into the service department and ask them if it feels normal. That should be quick and easy.

What have you picked to replace the stock wheels?

Went with the KMC Slides in black 22inch.

Doing a 4 hr road trip tomorrow was gonna wait to see if it went away and if not have it checked out when I got back. But I opened the hood and the engine is obviously rocking at idle, was just thinking to myself must be the hemi power?

What size tires do you have on your 22s? The ideal tire size is 285/40/22 or 265/40/22. It could be your tires that's causing the shaking. I had the same exact issue with my Mazda 6 that had 20 inch rims with low profile tires. I changed the tires to a taller tire(i.e. bigger sidewall) and the shaking went away when coming to stop/braking.

My wheels are not on yet.

This is more like the car swaying at a standstill, my wife questioned it first I said it's just the V8 your not used to it. But than I went back out later by myself and was loading some music onto the stereo and the car start vibrating. Popped the hood at the engine was moving a little unusual I think for just sitting there.

Just stop in at the dealer when you get a chance. It doesn't sound normal.....but I've had V8's for so long that I am not a good judge.

I looked at the KMC wheels...nice. Please PM me with how much you get for them. I might do the same thing (but picked out different wheels) later in the year.

This is almost definitely a dealer issue. There was a TSB out to help make the car run smoother particularly in ECO mode (which I think is the default at idle). That might completely fix the problem.

Could be a faulty engine mount definitely bring your vehicle to the dealership. Ask your dealer to bring another Durango and run the engine side by side. No shaking or unusual vibration on my D.
