GAS MILEAGE ??? What are you getting?
What are people getting for gas mileage in the real world?
I debated with myself the merits of a V6 vs V8, and was wondering. I'm thinking my V6 gets on AVERAGE 16 City 23 highway and I'm getting 20-21 combined in Los Angeles streets and highways commuting to work and weekend stuff. Highway really helps to climb. I'm not
I towed a small fishing boat with camping gear up the Sierra Nevada mountains and after 1100 miles the trip computer said 24.7 mpg when I finally got home (speed was 55-65 mph for towing). I even had several climbs to 10,000+ feet elevation. The highway towing was just too good to believe.... (the boat was aluminum, so it was light).
Anyone got a V6 or V8 to compare?

I have the V8 and have been getting 15-16 in town and 21-22 on the highway. I actually got a little better mileage at first, but now I push the pedal a little further. I can do a little better on the highway if I pay close attention to instant gas mileage readout.
I've been very happy with my gas mileage, especially since I've only driven trucks and my last one was a Hemi powered Megacab....I got 17 on the highway and 12 in town.
This is my first SUV and I am very impressed with it.

we are getting 17.5 right now and that is mostly 35-45mph driving with traffic lights maybe 1/4mi apart. not idling or using remote start much either. I have posted this in another thread but we road tested on the same loop both the v6 and v8 and the difference was huge.. 3+mpg. i averaged 24.6mpg on a 350mi round trip at 75-80mph with 6 people aboard and only 150 miles on it. so i'm sure it will pickup.

the built in MPG thing is known as the lie-o-meter for a reason, its very very seldom that it will be correct, and it is NEVER consistent i have seen them be exactly on, and off by as much as 5 mpg in either direction (and everything in between), if you want good numbers you have to hand calc it

On a side note two of my friend's purchased '11 acadia denalis, AWD. They are only getting 12.2mpg, almost identical, horrible mpg on both vehicles.. wow.. both have opened cases with GM looking for a fix or exit strategy.. here's a link to the thread where he complained about it.
see if you can figure out what poster is my buddy's lol

RE: Acadia Denali
Wowsa, we almost purchased the Acadia Denali!
Getting about 19mpg with 60% highway 35% city and 5% remote start/long idling. V6 RWD
I don't go much above 60 on the highways. I think it's helping.
First road trip this weekend, but from what I can tell it will be as good if not better than my Tacoma.
