They seem to be pretty good, about 1/8" plate. Not plastic like some makes.

here are a few pics of mine. ...Don't mind the dirt, it snowed this morning.

I wanted the skid plates but have an RT so it wasn't an option. Any idea if you can purchase this separate and install yourself?

They seem to just bolt up to factory points. I'm sure they will cost a bit more than the factory option price, but the dealership should have no problem ordering them for you. You could also choose the plates you want if you didn't want the entire package.

ZCR1, your pictures are different now. Realizing its been a while but I just got my Durango and I was thinking that it may be good to have the skid plates.

Has anyone installed them themselves? If so what was the price and how good where they at protecting?

Also considering that the sales guy said it was not made for off-roading is this really just a nice to have as opposed to a must have?

OK I re-uploaded a few pics. I really like the added security not for off-roading but for the large chunks of ice that hide under the powder on the roads during the winter. I once hit one in my old CTS after a fresh snowfall put another 4" on our already snow covered road. It put a nice size dent in the passenger floorboard.

Interesting, do you have the tow hooks too? I think this is one option that I was thinking of getting but its too late now, I just don't know how much it will cost to get it and put it on.

The tow hooks look bad since it looks like it requires to remove the front bumper fascia.

Has nobody else installed this after purchase?

Its a nice addition but I'm not sure anyone else think so.

Thanks ZCR!

Yeah, I have the hooks; you wouldn’t have to remove anything on the front except the plastic piece with the oil pan access window to gain access to the rear anchor nut of the hook.

Do these look too cheap? At least they have a tow rating, I don't see that with the factory tow hooks.
