Default Nav Maps

Do any of the D nav systems come with upgradable maps? Is it possible to get them, download them, upload from a USB, or anything else? Can you get them for free, and if not what do they cost?

Go there for Navteq system, not sure about the Garmin, but if you poke around the Dodge site under "Owners Center" I sure you will find it. Good luck.

You can go to www.garmin.com/chrysler, and find out if any updates have been released based on which head unit you have. I have the 430N and there is an update available, but to be quite honest, at the listed $149.00 there is no way I'm going to pay that much for the upgrade. I can get a 4 to 5 inch garmin GPS with lifetime maps for not much more than that. While it may not be as aesthetically nice as the integrated unit, it's better than getting robbed.

Just checked your link and it's the same page that the one you end up from www.garmin.com/chrysler.

Thanks. So we likely agree that this is a total rip off! What, if any, technology prevents someone form ordering one of these rip off disks and then handing it to a friend with a Durango and letting them update their system as well? ;-)

The nav software (Navteq) absolutely blows. Beyond blows- it sucks!

Dodge needs to use a little common sense and take advantage of open technologies when building their next in-dash system. I love everything about the new Durango but the in-dash system.

As a matter of fact, I don't really use it any more other than as an amplifier for an iPhone.

With Siri I get in the truck, press one button and say "Give me directions to...where ever". Bam! Done! No F**KING around with some ridiculous voice system or touch inputs that has a spasim if I need to go to a different state.

Also, Pandora beats Sirius any day of the week.

Dodge, get a web-enabled console and you'll for once NOT be chasing your competitors.

*My rant for the day*

While it seems like an admirable goal to have all this capability built in, which car competitor has this today?

Toyota is getting close- but still hasn't gotten it right. The Camry is web-enabled option.

The Camry is the sole vehicle that Toyota has that has that capability and they don't have a true competitor with the Durango.
