Did you know....?
I drive a Jeep Wrangler, so I'm not hip to all these new fangled techno-gadgets. So I was driving my wife's Citadel last weekend, and came up behind a car slowing down to turn in a parking lot. As I pulled into the next lane to pass, the D started dinging like crazy at me! I glanced down at the dash and saw "Brake!" in big letters. Guess that's the collision warning system. Except for me it was a big distraction. I thought something broke.
The FCW recognizes via radar when a moving object, moving away from you has a speed differential >10mph, like when a car slows to turn. If you get too close at >10mph closing speed, the FCW goes crazy.
The FCW can tell the difference between an object moving in the same direction of travel at slower speeds vs oncoming traffic which would likely be closing at a rate approximately double your current speed.
This in addition to the adaptive cruise can lead to unexpected braking events if you aren't prepared. The radar can see the adjoining lane and if you have adaptive cruise active and a car at your 1-2 o'clock or 10-11 o'clock position slows rapidly, the adaptive cruise will also hammer the brakes. If you anticipate it, you can override it with the gas pedal, but it could lead to being rear-ended as the ACC effectively brake checks the car behind you.

We haven't had FCW give us any false warnings yet. I like that we can change it's settings to Far, Near, and Off. If it bugs us, I'll drop it to Near. Sounds like you must have changed lanes at the last minute.
I don't know about unexpected brakings with ACC (unless the system faults). If one is not paying attention and it auto brakes unexpectedly because the car in front did also, isn't that the desired effect? If the system really did brake itself (only 25% braking will be applied) because of a car in an adjoining lane, I'd think they wouldn't be offering the feature. We haven't had a problem with ACC so far yet.
I don't really care for ACC or FCW. Not before, not now, not yet at least. Maybe in time. I initially had the same feelings for BLIS and CrossPath. But those two features have proven themselves very useful. I like how blis doesn't chime in until I turn the signal on. Now I can just drive, if I want to switch, without taking my eyes off the road, I flip the signal, if it's quiet, then I look. Now I don't waste my time looking only to not be able to not switch. I don't use the light in the mirror.

I was considering a crew lux and an r/t.
From what I remember, the Citadel (at least the '11s) vs only a Crew-LUX has
1) Sunroof
2) Garmin
3) better quality napa leather. Nicer seats and colored stitching. White vs the red on the r/t.
4) leather on doors and center console.
5) BLIS, adaptive cruise, collision warning, cross path detection. BLIS and CrossPath have already come in handy. I initially dismissed these features but now love them!
6) cooled seats and heated steering wheel
7) Xenon headlights
8) More flexible power passenger seat
9) 1yr more of maintenance
10) And aaaaaargggggh, more chrome.
Some of the above options can be added to a crew but were not in the lux package. When I priced a crew lux with sunroof and garmin and other stuff, then priced an R/T, as much as I hate chrome, I decided the Citadel was worth it. I can eventually lower the Citadel. As much as I liked the full body paint of the R/T, I didn't like the painted fenders. That part I would have preferred the black plastic like our black citadel has. I'm just tired of dings from other cars. So much that I've ordered the side body moldings. And while I don't like chrome at all, the chrome front grille is the one and only part I did actually like. Don't know why, but when I see pics of black durangos with the chrome front, I do like that. The door handles, rims, tailgate, that I do wish wasn't there. In time, hopefully I can address those.

Actually if you keep holding it down, the windows will roll down all the way if you want.
nope just press and hold unlock on the R/T. Now if they only worked like my old Passats. Press and hold unlock all windows roll down. Press and hold lock they all roll up. The sunroof would close as well if it was open.
