Other than that I love the truck!
This is the same sound in my Durango...

Can someone please confirm this noise coming from either the rubber liner at the rear of the engine compartment or the hose that is next to i believer the washer reservoir. I dont believe it is an issue with driver mirror, their is no visible wire. I do get it on my 2012 RT at highway speed especially when wind is coming across the hood or straight towards it. it almost reminds me of a blown speaker crackle or plastic flapping in the wind!! Annoying

I used black duck tape to tape down the windshield washer fluid line, the noise has been gone for a few months now.

Angry Help

So I have spent countless hours reviewing the issues behind the dash rattle in the Durango (mine 2012 citadel). I have the same issue as others with a annoying squeak turning into a rattle at a crusing speed. I have taken it to the dealer 3 times which included the TSB - hinge bolt with no resolution. Has anyone had any success in identifying the exact cause? I am beginning to regret my purchase.

Smartasss,

What did the dealer tell you after they gave you the vehicle back. If you'd like to PM me you VIN# and the name of your servicing dealer, I'd be able to look into this further for you.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks for the reply Katie. Originally, the dealer agreed with the issue and implemented the TSB. We took it for a test drive and it "seemed" to be corrected. However, I didn't realize at the time that the rattle appeared at crusing speed of 60-75. That is when I did my research and saw that multiple owners were complaining of the exact same thing. I took it back and informed them that it might be the wiper fluid cable. They applied a 3 inch piece of foam plumbers tape, that fell off before I got home. I have since been contacted by Dodge customer care ( I appologize to whoever took that call...I was not a happy camper). They have been calling back to follow up, but I have not been able to get the time off to take back to the dealer. I will attempt to set up another appointment, but I am losing confidence. The noise cheapens the driving experience. If after my next appointment it is not resolved I will post here.

DodgeCACares I am a bit confused. Are u a customer service rep? Dodge employee? If so is there a way this matter could be researched and possibly solved so we don't have to electrical tape engine components on $40,000+ vehicles that are barely 2 years old. Forgive me if I am coming off abrasive but I am sure there are plenty of Dodge Reps that are on or visited this site and I am curious to see if anyone is looking into this. I must say it is embarrassing to have people in my vehicle with the radio down holding a mild conversation and hearing a random flapping noise coming from my vehicle with only 12k miles on it.

Port,

I do work for Dodge Canada as a Top Care Specialist in the Customer Care Department. If there are any complaints or inquiries we are certainly willing to review and assist in resolving any concerns you may have. Keep in mind, everything is handled on a case by case basis as one customer concern may sound like another, but can be something completely different.

If you are looking for additional assistance you can contact myself, my US counterpart, Chris, DodgeCares or the Customer Care Department (numbers below).

Canada: 1-800-465-2001
U.S.: 1-800-992-1997

I hope this helps and clears things up.
