Default Heated Seat Issue

I have had my 11 Citadel for 10 months now and the heated seats have never seemed to work properly. When the switch is on low, I believe there is no heat at all and on high, the heat is minimal. I took it in 2 months ago and they agreed that there was a malfunction and ordered me two new front seat elements. They told me that there was problems with many of the originals and it was now in fact a different part #. I took it in 2 separate times, and each time the wrong part had arrived. (2 weeks to get each part). Finally the latest part came in and I took it in to have them installed. Received a phone call saying that they re-checked the elements and now the originals are working fine. Nothing changed but now they say they are good. 2 months later, no further ahead. My old Durango seats would literally cook you on high. You couldnt leave them on high for long, it was too warm. These new seats seem very, very low. I drive with them on high always and barely feel anything. Low is a complete right off. I am now being told that this is how they are. I have a hard time believing that this is true. How does eveyone else's work. Do they get warm or are they very poor like mine?
Thanks

New to us - - > a 2012 Durango R/T . . . the seat heaters are quite warm, in my opinion. . Anything more than one "bar" is too hot for me.

Bster,

The only tech tip I could find on your issue is posted below. It involves making sure the heated seat module is flashed with the latest update. Perhaps it would help with your issue if the dealer has not tried this fix yet to solve your problem.

On 2011 vehicles built prior to 7/20/10 ... If a customer complaint is for a lack of heating performance experienced with the vehicle's heated seats, follow service procedure for a flash update of the Heated Seat Module (CSWM) to the most recently released change level.

They tried that flash when I first took it in and there was no improvement. I just dont understand how they figure that they are working fine now. I believe that you should feel something on the low setting. It sounds like others are working differently than mine but the dealer doesnt seem to believe that. I guess I will have to start over at a different dealership. Wondering if I am just wasting my time.

Bster,

If you think the dealer is not solving the problem I would recommend calling the Chrysler Assistance Center and have them get involved with solving your issue. Either by getting a Chrysler tech involved or working with the dealer to bring your issue to a resolution. Numbers below.

800-992-1997 United States
800-465-2001 Canada

Thanks. That might be my next step. I havent heard of anyone having success that route. I know some people that ended up more frustrated than before after they started that process. The dealer seems to be clueless when it comes to problems that aren't black and white.

Park yours next to a new one in the lot, have them start the new one, put the seats in both on high, wait 5 minutes then try the seats in each with the service tech. It should be pretty clear if yours have a problem.
