Default Aftermarket/OEM roof rack (Thule)

Just wanted to share some pictures of my aftermarket roof rack for anyone interested. I was going to get bike trays that mounted to my factory cross bars, however I already had two Thule bike trays so instead I just bought the Thule Ride On adapters and mounted them to the factory crossbars and then the bike trays to that. I am happy with my setup, I just needed a way to transport two of my bikes. I also added a Thule fairing to the front to clean up the look and make it quiet/fuel efficient. I don't notice a difference in sound and it is too early to tell if it effected my fuel mileage. Another plus is that the hatch can still fully open with the rack on and I can remove the whole rack by just unscrewing the four factory cross bars..

how about some pictures with the bikes up there?

also a bit off topic, but what kind of riding do you do? and will the bikes fit inside the back without taking any of the wheels off? (i know i can fit two, standing up in the back of my 1st gen fully assembled if i roll the 2nd row seats up)

I just put the rack up today and haven't had a chance to put the bikes on, but will post when I do. I ride mostly road, but have a hybrid and have been doing a some very mild trail riding with it just to change things up a bit. I actually never tried to put the bikes in the back, so I am not sure if they would fit. My roadie is a 59cm Jamis Quest. Although when the baby and the dog is with me I def wouldn't have space...

Cool. Im going to have to get the rear hitch mount since the RT doesn't have the roof rails but thats alright. I like the look of the thule rack though .

Thanks, yeah I thought of a hitch mount, but I don't have a hitch and the cost of this setup was a lot cheaper than an OEM hitch and hitch rack.. You'd think they would at least offer roof rails on the RT as an option and body-color match them...

Just wanted to throw a few more pics up with the bikes on top as requested... I also threw in a pic of my "custom" rear cargo mat I made using boat blanket, thanks to JJPonzini for this suggestion. Cheap and works perfect for the dog and whatever else...
