Default Alignment issue

Hello all....new owner here of 2012 SXT AWD.

I am having an issue with the alignment on the vehicle. I can feel the vehicle pulling to the left on the highway at 75-80 mph. Needless, to say it was getting annoying on a 4 hour drive. The muscle in my arm were getting strained due to correcting the steering constantly. The interstate was flat and straight with no visible imperfections. I don't notice the steering issue in local driving etc.

Anyone having a similar issue? Also, any new technical service bulletins on this?

I currently have 3k miles on the vehicle. It was brand new when I purchased it. I will have the dealer look at it when I change the oil.

I just went through hell getting my brand new Durango's allignment fixed. Spent all day at the dealer twice. Test drove it 4 times. Kept telling them a little more to the left. Finally thought it was perfect. Drove home and still not right. Giving up.

are you certain the interstate was 100% truely flat? i only ask because every single interstate in my area has crown to it enough to cause the truck to pull, some are crowned towards the center, some towards the shoulder, and some curve so you pull right in the right lane and left in the left lane. this is done for drainage but can get annoying when driving on them for extended periods of time.

Ryan,

There are no TSB's regarding alignment. Have the dealer look at it and take care of it for you next time you are in there.

All of the Durangos use the same width tires....

Chances are good that your vehicle will pull a little to the left while in the left lane of an interstate, and a little to the right when in the right lane, because of the slight crown in the road. If however you are in the left lane and the car pulls right enough to go over the crown, or vice versa, then you have a problem that needs to be corrected. If a good four wheel alignment doesn't fix it, then it could be a bad radial tire. That's something the dealer may not be able to check, but a reputable tire shop should be able to.

Thanks everyone for the help! Yes, I have had the problem on many different types of roads. It is more pronounced at higher highway speeds. I will take into to dealer first to get a 4 wheel alignment and tire rotation. I will keep all you posted.
