Default vehicle moving on startup?

2012 RT AWD with pushbutton start: Transmission in park, level garage, park brake off.

Please try this and confirm if you have similar results:

1. Sit in vehicle
2. Foot on Brake
3. Push Start Button (keep foot on Brake)
4. Drivetrain clunk/shudder no movement

1. Sit in Vehicle
2. Foot on Brake
3. Push Start Button (remove foot from brake quickly)
4. Drivetrain clunk/shudder with vehicle rocking forward

It rocks enough that in a parking lot you may look in the mirror expecting to have been bumped by anopther driver backing into you.

Same specs and I noticed the same thing. Lunges forward even with my foot on the brake. Thought I was about to jump the curb the first time it happened. First thought was maybe the torque converter wind up.

The first thing I would do is check the fluid level; the trans may be slightly overfilled. (neutral at operating temp)

I have 2012 AWD Citadel w/ Hemi V8. I do NOT notice any of the issues you describe. Mine starts with no movement or noises...

The ram 1500 r/t's have higher stall torque converters. Is this the same case for the Durangos?

The torque converter has nothing to do with the vehicle moving in park. This is from something internal to the trans; Maybe PM an expert like master tech.

Does it do it when its cold and warm or just cold I'm wondering if the viscosity of the cold fluids makes a lurch florida little bit just from the splash of the gears?

It's been in the 50's in the morning and up in the 90's during the day and still does it.

I have a 12 R/T with 8000 miles and it does it sometimes; I thought it was just the nature of the beast.
