I would use one bro so not to damage the threads on the wheel or vehicle

gotcha bro, i'll take a look once it arrives... suddenly this morning the fed ex tracking said it wasnt scheduled to deliver till tomorrow!!

19 - Steering/Column/WHEEL, Steering/Removal

REMOVAL

Labor Operations: Click to display a list of Labor Operations associated with this procedure





WARNING:Before servicing the steering column the airbag system must be disarmed. Failure to do so may result in accidental deployment of the airbag and possible personal injury..


  1. Position front wheels straight ahead.
  2. Disconnect and isolate the negative (ground) cable from the battery.
  3. Disable and remove the drivers side airbag (Refer to 10 - Restraints/AIR BAG, Driver - Removal) .
  4. Disconnect all electrical connectors.
  5. Remove the steering wheel bolt (1).
  6. Remove steering wheel damper, if equipped.
  7. Slide the steering wheel (2) off the steering column assembly.
19 - Steering/Column/WHEEL, Steering/Installation

INSTALLATION

Labor Operations: Click to display a list of Labor Operations associated with this procedure






  1. Install steering wheel (2) onto the column.

    NOTE:Do not reuse the old steering wheel bolt (1) (a new bolt must be used)

    NOTE:Be certain that the steering wheel mounting bolt is tightened to the proper torque specification to ensure proper clockspring operation.
  2. Install steering wheel damper, if equipped.
  3. Install the new steering wheel bolt (1). Tighten the bolt to 80 N·m (59 ft. lbs.).
  4. Reconnect all electrical connectors.
  5. Install the drivers side air bag (Refer to 10 - Restraints/AIR BAG, Driver - Installation) .
  6. Reconnect the negative (ground) cable to the battery.
