Why would a Dodge product be discontinued for a Jeep product?

Completely false, its planned to be built on the same platform as the gc and durango. Your sources, no matter how reliable you think they are, are completely wrong.

Here is where he got it from.
http://www.allpar.com/model/upcoming-trucks.html

I too thought it was going to be a true luxury SUV starting around 60K and climbing from there not competing with the D whatsoever.

^^^^I thought so too. I figured the GC and Durango would stay the same with the GW coming in as a more luxury variant. But I guess with JNAp building the Grand Cherokee, Durango, the new Maserati and the Grand Wagoneer...something had to go. My source has known this for awhile...just was waiting on confirmation. There is no confirmation though on when the durango production will end. Maybe it wont happen till the next redesign? Which would make sense for 2015 being the last Durango

edit-I didnt get this info from allpar....but that pretty much says what were hearing.

sorry bro....just putting out to the folks here what Im hearing...which has been posted in several other sources as well with allpar, the dodge man etc. The GW will be built on the durango platform and will replace it. I guess only time will tell with this info...same as with the 8 speed info.

That sucks if this is true! The GW concept pictured is hideous.

Default Ugly!

I certianly hope the final version looks better than the concept. It looks like they stepped back in time to the 60's for this design, and not in a good way. I'm truly disappointed that this may be true. After redesigning the Durango and getting great reviews on the styling, how could they even consider something so hideous! Of course this is just my opinion.
