Angry '12 Crew Quality issues please help

Hello All,

Just purchased a 2012 Durango AWD V6 Crew with 20'' tires last month Built on May 15th. The car (seats and steering wheel) vibrate, and the wheel feels loose from 70-80mph. I had them re-balance/align the vehicle but still no fix. Anyone have experience with this? What can I tell them to look at?

Other minor issues which I've had to have fixed (rear passenger door was not aligned properly with the body...they adjusted the door latch which fixed the alignment but now you have to slam the door to get it to shut properly i'll have to have them re-look at it)

Steering wheel: the plastic silver piece had a big gouge in it was like that on the lot with 5miles on the truck.

Drivers side seat squeaky: over bumps the seat makes a creaky noise kinda annoying

Passenger Side front door: Wind noise, door doesn't seem to seal quite right.
Sound: Sound system seems flat to me, disappointing.

Besides the initial quality issues, i'm loving the vehicle. Averaging around 20mpg with 30/70 mix city/highway

Thank you, and I look forward to being an active member of the community.

Welcome... sorry to hear about the issues your having! I've read of a few guys who have had vibration at highway speeds or higher and complained to the dealer who rebalanced/check for tire issues beyond that I personally havent encountered an issue to this point. We have a member on hand (DodgeCares) who should chime in with some info for you. Good luck man!

Well let me add that at 70-80mph if I'm driving alone and look at the passenger seat, it is vibrating and rocking back and forth like crazy. Has anyone else seen this?

Wow yeah nothing like that here! I would take it back and go for a test drive with the tech !

I worked as a tech at FORD for 10 years and believe me the squeaky wheel
gets the grease when it comes to warranty work!

well, squeaky seat, you really just have to take it into the dealer and have them figure out where is it coming from. Sometimes a simply lube will fix it, sometimes has to replace the seat frame.

regarding the vibration, ask them if they can try a set of wheel from another durango off the Lot ( with Different RIMS AND TIRE) I just has a Van (brand new) with a bad Axle causing a slight vibration at 60+ MPH. ask them to swap the axles too.

Wind noise... Dodge are never too good with Windnoise. especially on highway speed. Try another Durango on the lot, see if it is the same, or Crank up the radio? Hold on... you said the radio sucks... Time for Aftermarket upgrade!!
Honestly, Only car I've driven that's good on Windnoise are German cars.

Not sure about the gouge mark, because every dealership handles these type of complaints differently.

Funky,

If the dealer cannot get your issues resolved to your satisfaction then I would suggest a call directly to the Chrysler Customer Assistance Center and they will get a Chrysler tech involved to help the dealer fix the problems you are having. Numbers below.

800-465-2001 Canada

Sorry to hear about the bad experiences. Did you not notice any of these things when you test drove the vehicle?
