I notice on my window sticker that my truck doesn't list Smart Beam as a feature, and I thought I saw it on the sticker of another Durango on the lot. Plus when I went on some dark roads over the weekend, I had to do the high beams manually. The website says Smart Beam is a standard feature in the R/T model. Anyone familiar?

Don't know if it's standard, but the easiest way to tell is in the Setup portion of your EVIC; there is a selection for the SmartBeam hi-beam function; make sure the check is present.Originally Posted by DJ Hellfire

****Important note: the SmartBeam AUTO dimming function only works when the headlamp selector is in AUTO mode. If you have the switch set to manual on then the hi-beams will function normally.

^^This. My auto wipers weren't working because they weren't checked off on the EVIC. Check it out! Originally Posted by coldsteel

I would assume the R/T would have them. My 2012 Crew has it. But I also have whatever the convenience package is, too.

Auto high beams are a great option, but unfortunately the implementation just doesn't work that well. I don't know if they need a more sophisticated sensor, or a more sophisticated algorithm, or maybe some additional sensitivity settings, but as is it's just not "smart" enough for me.
