Default Surging at low speeds

I noticed twice now in the last week that a lower speeds (below 20 mph) and driving up a small incline it seems like transmission locks into a higher gear, then if you don't apply more pedal, the truck will surge. Anyone else experience anything similar??

Don't know but maybe it has something to do with that Hill Start Assist feature?

could also have to do with the ETC. reset the pcm by removing the negative and pushing the brake pedal a couple times.

I'm having the same issue with my 2012 Crew. I do have the hill start assist enabled. I have never disabled it...drove it off the lot with that setting enabled. I'll disable that feature over the next few days and see what happens. It's certainly worth a shot to see if it fixes the issue.

This is straight from dodge.com on the hill start feature:

"Hill Start Assist allows you time to transition from brake to throttle to achieve a smooth launch on a grade. The system will hold brake pressure for about two seconds upon your release of the brake pedal. The system decreases wheel pressure in response to increasing throttle to provide a smooth launch."

I will disable the hill assist first and test. If that does not work, then I will try resetting the PCM as Scott suggests. I'll post results. Thanks for the suggestions.

I have noticed the same "surge" when pulling in my driveway a couple times, I don't think it has anything to do with the hill assist. If you have driven manual before you know what it feels like to take your foot off the clutch without giving it gas, that's what it feels like to me anyway. Try manual shifting from 2 to 1 and you will notice it happen when coming to a stop sometimes

I've noticed it but only when it's not fully warmed up, i.e. driven less then five miles...

Dude!! Turned that **** off and no longer have that little surge I would get when going up a few steep hills on my way too/from work (speeds were always between 25 and 40mph).
