I would like to add my thanks as well.

Chris, do we have any word yet on a fix for the Nav not storing addresses? I'm not having any problem with presets....just the address book entries. I seem to have much better luck when I can reference a fix for the service manager, or else just live with the problem.

 

I do not have a TSB or Star case on this issue to reference as of yet. Sorry.

 

We are also having the same issues with our 2012 Citadel. Constantly losing presets from driver 1 and 2 combined with losing home address. Let us know when the service bulletin comes out.

 

Is this software update free or covered under warranty? Do I just go ask the dealer for it or do I need to order it through the parts department? Is it something simple I can do like just loading the cd in the head unit or is it something a tech must do using a scan tool? Does Dodge notify owners of the pertinent vehicles when these software updates are available or is this something we have to be proactive about and check ourselves periodically? Thanks in advance.

 

There is no charge. I do not know the details as to how the upgrade is performed. It is done under warranty. I can't see them charging to fix something that is obviously a design/programming error. Unless there is a recall, Dodge probably will not notify anyone about it. If you are having a problem with your unit and tell them about it, I assume they will just perform the upgrade as an attempt to remedy your problem. If your unit is working fine, don't bother looking for the upgrade. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." However, upgrading the software did not fix my problem.

 

I think I found the problem for us. When my husband has been driving and then the next time I drive, I will sometimes open the car on the passenger side to put my laptop and purse in including my keys, then get in the car on the driver's side, but without keys in my hand. When I do it this way, the stations don't switch to my settings. But, if I get out and get back in with keys in my hand, then it resets to my settings.
