Default Spare Tire Protection (pics)

Just put on the SpareShield to protect the spare tire. Easy install and imo worth the price.

I had one stolen off my Explorer many years ago. They just have to cut the spring off and the tension will release and the tire is gone.

its a good idea for sure, but i would be uncomfortable w/ how far it sticks down below the tire, if you go over anything in the road it could get kicked up and damage it, or get stuck on it if it sat flush w/ the rim it would be a great solution

Nice idea but agreed it sticks out way too far, could hit something and generally just looks assy from a low rear angle!

Thats interesting for sure but hangs way to low

besides
I have a feeling if I am somewhere that they would steel my wheels I would think they would leave my spare and take all 4 of my Lexani's

I agree that it does stick out more than I expected. I have contacted the company and am waiting for a reply. It looks much lower than it actually is but still juts down a bit.

I live near Chicago and the train station where my wife parks one day had 15 spares stolen within 1/2 hr.

a nice cable lock does wonders and you cant see it once installed...that thing looks rediculous and out of place. I am all for security but i would never put that on my car
