Default Tire size options for stock R/T ?

Are the 265's my only option for the R/T? I'd like to go a bit wider but keep the same stock diameter.

To go wider, while maintaining the stock diameter, you will need a lower profile tire. Just use a tire size calculator available online and compare a few sizes in the tire model of your choice.

Nope. Wider tires will not work on the stock 8" rims.

275's would be fine on 8" wide wheels most tires have a range for wheel width. Check the manufacturer's recommendation before purchasing.

Sizes similar to Stock Tire Diameter
265/50/20 - 7" to 9" | Dia. 30.43" - Stock Tire Size
275/50/20 - 7.5" to 9.5" | Dia. 30.83" - Slightly Larger (3/8")
275/55/20 - 7.5" to 9.5" | Dia. 31.91" - 1" Taller Tire
285/45/20 - Could not find a tire available
285/50/20 - 8" to 10" | Dia. 31.22 - 3/4" Taller Tire
295/45/20 - will not fit need a 9.5" wide wheel at a minimum

Note that the PO wants to keep the same OD. That's 30.5", requiring a 275/45R20 tire. If you check, minimum rim width is 8.5" for that size.

BTW, better check your post. The OD on the 275/50R20s cannot be smaller than the 265/50R20s.

275/45/20 would be 29.74" OD 1/2" smaller.

Thanks for the feedback. Are XL tires necessary?
