Default What speakers did you use

Just got a 2011 Durango Crew with the upgraded Alpine system. I am curious what other on here have used for speaker replacements. What improvements you noticed. Thanks

All I did was replaced the door speakers, put in a set of 6x9 focals. Sounds worlds better.

i took out the factory 6x9 and tweeters in the fron doors and put in a set of diamond audio hex 6.5" components (they are some of the best speakers that i have ever had, i have had them for about 10 years and still sound like they did on day 1), I also added a 4 channel amp also (2 channels to the compeonets, 2 bridged to a single 12' sub)

My stereo consists of:

Focal 6.5" components in front door (with minor dremel work, the tweeters fit into the stock location)
Focal 6.5" coaxials in rear doors
Pair of Kicker 12L7 subs behind 3rd row seat
Sundown SAX 100.4 mids/high amp
Sundown SAZ 1500D subwoofer amp
Sound deadened rear end with FatMat and closed cell foam (floor, hatch and all 4 doors)
2nd battery installed in hidden tray under driver's seat.

I am still using the factory head unit (so if a thief looks in, they will move to the next vehicle). I am uing a Audio Control LC8 to convert the factory speakers to RCA and it works perfectly.

I would put my sysem up against most daily driver systems out there, the subs will bounce the windshield wipers and the mids/highs can be cleanly heard over the subs, nice even balance.

Focals huh? I may have to look into these. The factory system just isn't cutting it anymore.

if you dont plan to add an amp dont even bother.. they only way to get the best sound is to get an aftermarket amp that you can adjust. The factory amp is only meant to be with the factory apeakers. yes others will play, but you are wasting your money on a great set of speakers.

For most part I agree
However the Integration series from Focal are designed to work with stock as replacements
