Default Cracked Windshield

I have a significantly cracked windshield on the Durango (rock) and windshield needs replacing - it has the rain sensing feature. Anyone have experience using Safelite Autoglass to replace a windshield? I'm thinking of using them. Otherwise, I have several local options for glass replacement vs this national brand. Thanks for any input here.

Call car insurance co and get a recommendation. I used a referred local shop to replace and paid a little extra for OEM on my other vehicle with the sensors.

I would check with your insurance company for a recommendation as stated above!

I have just had our windshield replaced in our2012 Durango Cruz. It was replaced with a Pilkington windshield, which is god quality, but now the Rain sensors don't work, even though the activation set-up says it's on.

Called the installation company back and after investigation it was discovered that you have to take your vehicle back to the dealership and have the n board computer "flashed" to recognize the new windshield, which costs $128 Tax.

This will happen every time a new windshield is fitted and who knows what other parts may also be subject to this onboard computer scam

Beware if you're thinking of buying a Dodge. They certainly won't be on my list of 'must have's' in the future.

I got mine done by a local shop and they have a big reputation in the NY tri state area and it was done before i finished breakfast at the diner next door.

But +1 on the recommendation from your insurance company as well as your dealer.

No Baldy, I signed up to warn others of what Dodge are doing to create additional business. You, on the other hand, clearly signed up to make yourself look a total dick, so congratulations on your huge success!
